Many thanks for your kind words David. Very much appreciated.
Norton is right. Yuri and others who have fallen foul with the Puyai Ban have decided not to let him bully anyone in the village for the remainder of his tenure.
There is simmering anger over his attitude and actions, which have been brought into the open. He will definitely attempt to strike back but it will be at his peril.

Thanks also for your comment on the video. Made with a free video editing program called Shotcut - very user friendly for those who are less than tech-savvy like me.

    Hi Shutree,
If you look at the image above the one you referred to with the "very Thai piece of wood" showing the front of the house, you'll see the reinforced concrete ring beams that act as lintels while at the same time giving added strength to the block walls.

What is the gap between the blocks above the window and over the top of the piece of wood for?
Is there going to be something put in there to form a connection between the roof steel support beam and the concrete beam/window lintel?
Is it required due the blocks being considered non load bearing?

Understood. Looking at the picture it looks like the section of concrete above the wooden pillar is not continuous with the sections to the right and to the left. maybe it is the picture.

Perhaps a new pic from below would clarify.

Yeah. That does look rather odd in that picture. Why even have a piece of support wood. One would think if a continuous lintel it would be sound and no support required.

Sorry PC if we are coming across picky. Just a question asking bunch

As Norts said, starting to take shape.

My view of the picture above is that it is deceiving.
On the left side of the window opening there appears to be a double thickness wall which is actually the wall with the verandah post aligned with the edge of the opening. This creates a false opening under the lintel beam.
There is most likely a piece of formwork still left under the beam which is being supported by the stick.
The "cracks" in the beam IMHO are where the ends of the shuttering joined.
Although I would have thought it better to use a longer piece to go all the way across the window opening it really wouldn't hurt anything.

^ I agree with your view regarding the shuttering join line impression on the top lintel.

Based upon what I have seen from previous pictures I am sure there is adequate reinforcement steel in the lintel channel.

    Loy Toy, Ootai,
Your comments are both on the money. Shuttering join lines and plenty of re-bar in the ring beam / lintel.

PC coming along, its amazing how quick the basic structure goes up but as we know its all the small finishing jobs that eat up time.
