Not much there apart from the fact that with everyone else going HTML5 (and they're going fucking slowly), Adobe don't wish to be left behind.
It will be quite a while before Adobe abandon flash.
And let's face it, it outlived Steve the Ninja.

Android Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0 to Support Flash, But That’s It From Adobe
By Jeff Baker - 11/21/2011 5:00:39 PM
There has been an ongoing debate whether or not Adobe’s Flash platform is feasible on mobile devices. Apple, for one, has planted their foot firmly pledging to never support Flash with iOS. Android, on the other hand, has seen a native version of Adobe’s Flash Player hit the Android Market and has been, by most accounts, functioning quite well.
However, with the emergence of HTML5 and the waning need for Flash Adobe came forth not too long ago to announce that they would no longer be producing a version of the player for mobile devices. If you’re one who absolutely needs Flash Player in their pocket and are worried about about the forthcoming release of Android 4.0, fret not.
It was just made known today that Adobe will in fact produce one last version of their Flash Player for Android 4.0 otherwise known as Ice Cream Sandwich. They’ve also taken the time to make it clear that this will officially be the last version of Flash to ever hit a mobile platform. Expect the Android 4.0 specific Flash by the end of the year.
