Hi does anyone know if the ipad2 will run MSN messenger ?

I believe it has something similar from the i range software installed but it has to run messenger to be any good for the missus ,,,,,thanks

Yes it has MSN messenger but you can't run other programs at the same time. If for instance you want to surf the net msn will close which is a bit annoying.

In fact, the Ipad does handle multi tasking just not all 3rd party apps. Most have a saved state function and it is the developers, not Apple that control this so maybe MSN should wake up but hey, it's a microsoft thing isn't it? I listen to wunder radio while surfing all the time.

I love it, it is very convienient, very long batery life and great to have on the coffee table or in bed when you want to check something online, my son loves it for the games and I can pop some movies on it that I downloaded for him to watch in the car or whatever. masive amounts of apps and even found a samsung remote app that controls my tv.

It is a big ipod really (and great as that) not a computer.

Use whatsapp. Much better and free, even for text messages.

For msn, if you cant find a app I believe there is an app named ebuddy or something like that that allows you use all the popular services.

Thanks all for the info ,,,,,,,,,, its just that the missus will need MSN to webchat back home each day ,, ie there will be no chance of another ipad the other side of the world comunicating in ipad speak so to speak,, I hope it will work ok ,she will love it ,,,,,,,,,,, I bought her a net book 2 xmas,s ago if anyone,s thinkin about one of them forget it ! it would be quicker with a bean tin and string ,go the extra mile for the ipad

yes, i ad a quick google around and plenty of options it seems. I don't like msn, I just realised any one you talk to can see everyone else yu talk to, not much good when you are trying to find girls to date!
