Whe Will These I-Tards Learn ?

iPhone still the Apple of most people's eye

Android certainly has been doing well for itself of late, but no matter how you carve up the numbers, there's one fact that hasn't changed at all: the iPhone remains the most desirable smartphone on the planet.

A new study of European mobile users reveals that a full 40% intend to make the iPhone their next mobile phone, more than double the figure for Google's seemingly all-conquering platform.

Say what you like about Apple's decidedly singular approach to consumer electronics, but when it comes to creating desire for a clearly defined brand identity, no other company comes close.

And no Apple product epitomises that strength more than the iPhone. According to Yankee Group's European Mobile User Study, 40% of European smartphone buyers intend to invest in the Apple phone next time around, compared with 19% for Android, 17% for BlackBerry and 15% for Nokia (which we suspect Nokia will actually be quite pleased with at this stage).

“These findings highlight the continued strength of Apple in the European smartphone market and, in particular, its phenomenal brand appeal,” Yankee Group vice president Declan Lonergan commented.

“The data also highlights the enormous challenges faced by Nokia and RIM to retain mind share and market share in this increasingly dynamic and competitive marketplace.”

Indeed. The survey took in the views of 5,000 consumers, 2,250 employees and IT managers over five European countries, including the UK.

It is a quality product and feels solid too, but they have been caught by the pack now.

Motorola and Nokia were both way ahead at one time too

This was a long, long time ago. What they failed is to be consistent with new innovations.
Apple have got the buying public by the balls.

I can't recall any queues around the block for the latest Nokia gadget past & present.

they are just better at marketing,

the iPhone is more of a computer than a phone actually, so long queue for apple computers is not something new

They know the consumer alright, a bunch of dummies who just wanna be seen with the flashiest most expensive phone

This Wonder Phone that tracks the Itards location, has No Flash Player and is on a closed platform which can only video chat to another itard on another i phone 4, and costs more than any other phone

You can have the best marketing on the planet and persuade folk to buy the product once, but to keep abreast of what the customer wants, and what they actually like using is a better marketing tool than any PR guru could come up with.

i agree about flash player, but the reason you can only do face to face with other itards is so they can sell you more than one.

I still use my mark one iphone, purchased just after they were launched. testemony to its rugged construction and the battering it has had at my hands, it looks a bit like salvage now, but still works fine.
Even though it is obsolescent now, i still like using it and enjoy the functionality.

I have the 1st gen iphone, and the iphone 4. The 1st gen is so horribly slow compared to the newer version but I agree for its age and the amount of abuse I have given it, its very very well made.

technology, apple always end up behind. They are great in creative terms, but not on technology continuity, that's why they lost all their technological battles and needed to focus on marketing

to name a few: RISC, SCSI, OS7 etc...

that would be one reason I do not have one - keeping up with the leasing payments for the rest of its life makes it very un attractive financially

Who needs to afford one, when you can purchase something of far more substance for less money?

Is this really why so many dickheads buy this piece of crap, they think it makes them look rich?

    Oh lord.
