    External Hardrive and memory question

I have a Seagate external hard drive with 320gb memory. However, in 'my computer' it says that only 26gb is available. I only use it for movies and within my movie file there is approximately 90gb of films. There are other setup files; 5 approx with the max being around 300mb. Is their any explanation as to why i only have 26gb left when i've used no more than 95gb in total?

    Cheers

Seems a bit strange.. when you right click over the drive and look at properties it will tell you how much used space and free space there is, I'm sure you know that, but how much used space and free space does it say? When you look at the drive through the file manager make sure it has 'all file types' selected, perhaps the extra space is full of other file types. Obvious stuff really that I'm sure you know. Did you buy it in Thailand....? Then perhaps the extra space doesn't exist.

^^ Have you partitioned the drive?

If not, then maybe try removing the files and try a low level format.

If it is still being weird...then the drive might be dying.

I'm ready for that, that's when I tell him how to fix it with a microwave oven.
