    Virus or something in hotmail

Of late my hotmail acc has been sending out o load of spam. I've run antivirus and Spybot on my m/c and it comes back clean.

When i log into the acc it comes back with this after a few minutes:

A script on this page may be busy, or it may have stopped responding. You can stop the script now, or you can continue to see if the script will complete.

    Script: https://js2.wlxrs.com/_D/F$Live.SiteContent.Messenger/4.2.59120/release/Microsoft.Live.Core.LocalStorage.FF.js:39

Is this shit resident on my m/c or in the hotmail acc? Any suggestions pls?

Can you do anything in Hotmail? Like change your password and secret information?

    If so do it.

Don't think it's been hacked. Why hacked?

Hacked and used for spamming I reckon, a mate of mines hotmail account has been hacked for over a year and he doesn't believe me, I even send him the emails the spammer sends me for great new deals on phones etc.
Although it looks like the script is more aimed at live messenger, try looging out of the messenger but staying your hotmail account.

When I reformated my hard drive I reinstalled Live Messenger from a site and I think I ended up with a version loaded with nasty stuff. Now I can't find a program file for Live Messenger to delete. Help?

    Control Panel.

Otherwise you might remove and .exe file that doesn't actually remove other malware.

And scan your PC for malware with ADaware and SpyBot Search & Destroy.

OK you retards, I'll change my password, but I doubt it'll help. I'll eat my virtual hat if it does.

Still trying to work out why anyone in the last 8 years would bother with Hotmail. It's a pile of shit and has been for years.

^Too busy and/or old to migrate to the new bells n whistles. It's an old account. Still haven't had the time to change passwords etc. Important stuff like sex keeps interfering. Life sucks.

Did you change your secret information? Did you follow the Microsoft instructions posted earlier in this thread?

Because if you didn't, you deserve what you get for asking a question and ignoring the answers.

The problem is MSN messenger that's embedded into the hotmail page. It's not a hack or virus.

You can stop the problem by downloading the firefox add-on ad-blocker plus

Then go to "add filter" in the options and add the offending script page: js2.wlxrs.com

    Hope that helps.

The problem is people clicking on Messenger pop ups without even bothering to check what they are. It's a bloody menace.
