    Facebook Business Page

Does anybody know how I can create a Facebook business page which is completely and totally separate and unrelated to my personal account?

A couple of months ago I created a business page via my personal account and I don't know how to delete the fucking thing and can only find it by doing a search but once I've figured that out i'll be ready to start again.

Maybe he already has a website and is looking to use the API?

Well I guess if he had a domain he would know how to create a new Facebook account with an email address from his company's domain.

This is nothing to do with having a company website, the only relevance it would have is that the facebook page will have a link to the company website, other than that it's as relevant as nothing.

I'd like to know how to do this too.

The last time I did It created an account and profile for a business and then created a fan page from that profile. That's not ideal because people are then getting requests to join from 2 pages with similar names. (It made me change the name slightly from the fan page to the profile page.)

I'm sure there must be a better way to do it than that.

Does anyone know of any paid services that can do it for them? I'm short on time to do it myself.

I would like a link for a paid service as well. Facebook is a pain in the butt.

Have any of you tried Hootsuite?

I haven't, so don't bother asking me about it.

Cheers Marmite. I'm gonna sign up for a free account and check them out.

I've been looking to use these guys for some articles and link building.

    99centarticles.com | Package Deals

They do a Facebook fan page set up for $150. I think you need to be a member of Warrior forums to get these prices.

I think it was a hint of sarcasm, many businesses do not use Facebook. I'm all about using whatever channels you can as long as Facebook is not someone's weak replacement for a real website as so many startup's think of it as the most effective tool or even consider their Facebook or Myspace profile A WEBSITE.

I'm not 100% positive but I think it violates the Facebook terms of service to outsource or be outsourced. That might be why nobody really advertises such services?

True, but any marketing plan worth a damn will use both Facebook & Twitter as part of it's media marketing.

Yeah it does, but I can't see how people get around it without breaking rules.

    Here's a theoretical example.

The user need a business page that is not connected to his personal page. But he has set up business pages in the past that are connected to his personal page and he's used his credit card to pay for facebook advertising.

Facebook doesn't allow you to be the owner of multiple pages.

Now he'd like to set up a separate business account but needs to use the same credit card to pay for the new advertising so facebook will probably cancel one or both of the accounts.

It all sounds like a pain in the arse to me.

    From Facebook.

If I already have a user profile, can I create a business account?

Maintaining multiple accounts, regardless of the purpose, is a violation of Facebook’s Terms of Use. If you already have a personal account, then we cannot allow you to create business accounts for any reason. You can manage all the Pages and Socials Ads that you create on your personal account.

Please keep in mind that the fans of any of the Pages you administer will not have visibility or access to your personal account or profile. Any actions that you take as a Page administrator on your Page will show the Page’s name as the actor and not your personal name.

To create a Page, simply click on the "Create a Page" link under the Sign Up section of Welcome to Facebook - Log In, Sign Up or Learn More.

If you wish to manage ads for multiple clients, you will need to do so from one account. We suggest you restrict all ads for each client to separate campaigns. Unfortunately it is not currently possible to designate separate credit cards for each campaign or to have multiple administrators for the same ad account.

Arhh, I didn't read this bit properly before. If the fan cannot see the connection then it's not really a problem.

^ Okay well I tried getting my fan page from anothers fb account and it worked and no I couldn't see any of my info - which begs the question, how do I inform people that my business even has a wanky facebook 'fan page' and pester them with invites to be a fan?

    A few ways.

You can pay for facebook advertising so that a little advert will appear at the top right of peoples home page saying "Click here to become a fan of"

Have links on your actual website directing them to your facebook page, that's a bit backwards from the point though.

Create links back to your facebook page through blogging and media sites. Youtube would be the easiest for you. Put links to your facebook page and your website in your video descriptions. You could put boxes on your vids but that looks a bit wanky.

Ask a few of your facebook mates you know to 'suggest' your fan page to their friends in your niche and let the word spread.

There's more but I wanna get an episode of Shameless in before work.
