    iphone problem

1 month ago I decided to join the 21st century and got an iphone4 to replace my LG shine. I went for the iphone because I got an ipad about 10 months ago and love it, people told me the iphone was like a mini-ipad except that you can call with it.
Here's the problem, I love the iphone what a great little gadget, but I can't send text messages (SMS or MMS) to Thailand. Talked to Apple, they thought after checking the phone that it was some kind of glitch in AT&T's system. Talked to AT&T and they have admitted that it's something on their end, as I never had a problem with the LG. My friends in Thailand can send texts to me (I should have mentioned that I am in America) but I can't send to them.
Phone calls are not a problem, although at first it seemed that my calls were going though less frequently before AT&T sent the case to the boys in he back room that can fix anything and they told me several times it was fixed when it wasn't. My thai friends are on 12Call and they are trying to find out if it's something on that system.
Has anyone else had any problems like this with their phones or have any ideas.
If I lived in Thailand I wouldn't have this problem cause I doubt if i'd have an iphone.

    Thanks,
    celtic

If it works on your LG phone and not on your iPhone, how did you reach the conclusion it AT&T's fault?

Because they admitted it was something "at their end"?

Maybe a glitch that AT&T has with the iPhone OS?

I am thinking about doing the same thing and getting an iPhone. Currently have T-Mobile with a good Thailand calling plan. I can text with no problem and hate to move to something that does not work. Keep us posted......does AT&T say they are working to fix the issue?

Thanks for all the responses, I was successful in texting to one of my friends in BKK but have still not been able to text my friend in Chiangmai but she can text me and is going to ask 12Call about. It still makes no sense as my friend in Bangkok has 12Call also. Will keep you posted on progress, but who knows how long this could take. celtic

I have had no problem in the US while texting to Thailand, although I do run into quite a few problems when I'm here in Macau or in Thailand with texting back to the US, my success rate is generally about 5%

I live here in Thailand and work takes me to many different countrys, had a couple of I phones and have never had any problems.
I suggest for those with problems to down load whatsupapp and use the free chat service.
