The new Apple MacBook Air 13.3 inch

Apple - MacBook Air - The next generation of MacBooks.

these look pretty cool. The thinnest lightest laptop ever!

I'm going to buy one next week.

The 13 hour battery life, and strong sleak lightweight design makes it ideal for travelling, and the new memory card type hard disk is inovative, and is supposed to much more reliable as they don't have moving parts, and need less ram for higher performance.

Anybody have one or heard any first hand reviews?

There's a couple in the office here, uppped the spec on the standard, think it came to 65,000.

    The owners are in love.

Couple of smaller ones here as well, 40,000B for the standard spec, owners love them to.

Slow processor, tiny little screen. A shiny, way overpriced netbook in my opinion.

    Slow processor,
I've read reviews that say otherwise. Apparently memory card type SSD Doesnt need a large processor.

Yeah, I wouldn't believe that if I were you..... that's basically saying the Hard Disk doesn't need a "large processor"!

    SSD= Solid State Drive.

What it does do is reduce power consumption. I've had one in my Asus netbook since 2008.

there is nothing, it's made of thin air, but the typical mac user can't tell the difference since he is made of thin air himself

    You guys are the tards.

Admit it, it's much better than any of the 'tablets' on the market and only a fraction heavier. Its also much stronger, and EVEN has enough gumption to run heavy programs like Photoshop and compare it with any laptops that are too heavy and bulky to even contemplate carrying around all day. 13.5 hours battery life & mega-pixel screen. The best mobile machine on the market.... For many reasons..

    I like it..

I've had a Mac Book Pro for almost a year now and I do like it a lot more than my previous laptops (had a Sony, Dell, HP, and an Asus). Was it overpriced, well compared to a similar spec'd windows based laptop, yes it certainly was.

The best thing about the Apple model is that thy don't feel the need to update the hardware every time a new processor comes out from Intel, or a new graphics card comes out from nVidia or ATI (this is both good and bad in someways). This is quite different from the Windows based perspective where everything is constantly changing and designers are always looking to design for the latest and greatest hardware which changes way too often for my tastes. This approach always affects laptop users the most as the longer they have their laptop the more noticeable the slowdowns, with a Mac you don't seem to get that nasty side effect, or at least it's not that noticeable.

I'll continue to use Apple for my portable needs, and will always still use a Windows based solution for my desktop needs.

Really? So those Macbooks with the I7 in are just in my imagination then, are they?

What I meant by that statement was Apple doesn't rush to update things, even with the update the people who didn't rush to buy a new MBP didn't suffer.

The i7's were released in September 2009, Apple didn't update until April 2010.

Indeed, Apple charge more for their out-of-date technology. Good to know.

You've already shown you know jack shit about computers.
I don't claim to be any kind of expert. Infact, I will admit that I know jack shit about how they work.

I use movie and graphic software, and mac has always forfilled my needs in this department..

Perhaps they have problems getting their precious MacOS to work properly?
