Joined facebook, what do I do now?

My e:mail account has been a facebook invite repository for a while now.

I've finally relented and signed up. I need to know about these social networking technologies for a new job. So I've got a home page.

What do I do now?

Make sure your privacy settings are set to friends only. By default they are open to everybody.

find old friends...make sure not to friend bosses...

not willy, but if she is cute, I add her. You can create lists and either include or exclude people based on what list they are on. So if you only want people you really know, you can restrict info to only those.

If you find she is nuts, you can unfriend her and block her.

Twitter is more useful imo. My sons school uses it to broadcast announcements that come through as texts to all the parents, also seen it used with webcasts and proper conferences to take questions.
