Teakdoor hosting.
Cheapish.
Good cp.
Merican servers so quick.
You need to register the name of the site, plenty of domain name registrars out there. If you go with somebody like godaddy.com it's about $10 US a year for a .com name.Originally Posted by scrapmetalband
The godaddy website is a right pain to navigate through imho, you'll find all sorts of other things apart from registration are pre-ticked to try and get you to spend more so make sure you read through it carefully.
Then you need to find a home for your site, web hosts are all over the place. If you are in Thailand then 3ix.org aren't too bad, they have an office here (it's in Phuket) and it has (or had) an English guy running it. I have found them to be quite helpful when bad things happen and you used to be able to try it free for a month (not sure if they still have this feature). The basic plan is a dollar a month and comes with some useful features.
If you google for free web templates you'll get lots of results, with a bit of reading it isn't hard to learn some basic html (read the w3schools.com site for good info) and adapt one of the free templates to become your site. I have made a few sites using templates from this guy's templates
All this is assuming that you don't want/need Flash or fancy Java stuff to run. If you aren't interested in learning any sort of html then you can get your word processor to save a page as an html file or use something like SeaMonkey or MS Publisher to make it but the results may not be reliable.
I think at least one member here is a website developer so maybe pm them and ask for a quotation.
Here endeth the sermon.
/ps, I have no affiliation with any business I mentioned apart from being a customer.

Serif PP9 minimum requirement for web pages.
hard code EVERYTHING in Notepad. Use HTML only. Flash pash...I have done pron sites with nothing more than notepad. Pick up a book on HTML at your local bookstore, sit down and read it and if your still alive when your done you can become a webmaster.
Thanks-I'm just an idiot when comes to this.Have so much to learn.Trying to put some things together so I don't have to do Afghanistan anymore. This is a neat forum. Thanks again.
