    TOT wireless routers

Anyone have any info or links to what is available ?

I know I can get better and cheaper but I need someone to install it and get it working on 1 PC and 1 laptop.

On the other hand, will TOT come out (for a fee ? how much ? ) to install a router I buy from somewhere else ?

Cannot have any down time on the TOT internet connection so unfortunately and don't have anyone around to get things working.

True, TOT has a bad name. It also depends where you are, in what area. I use TT&T and am happy.

You can install the router yourself. I'm using a TPLink W8901G. It has a set up wizard which asks what country what service provider, what user name what password. Most other routers should have the same kind of simple set up.

The problem is that I am not on site or there would be no issue and I'd just install the new router and set it up for the present TOT internet service. There is no-one there to go through this process so buying a decent router and just having it delivered would mean that either it just sits there idle, which means the new laptop is a glorified book end or someone tries to install it and screws up the current system, which unfortunately runs the TV service which her mother's husband is glued to all day and barks like a dog when it goes offline.

I know from experience that TOT have come through both in Pattaya and up country when either installing a router in the first place or coming out to fix a problem. My worry is that there is nothing for them to gain from this, if I buy a new router, unless they can be "bribed" to come out and install it on the current PC and new laptop.

I would much prefer to get a new router with the laptop purchase but without any assistance to install it in Buriram, then there is no means to sort it out.

If someone has ever gotten TOT to come out in such a situation or can offer a solution, it would be much appreciated.

Ask the computer shop to install it when you buy the router.
They probably won't charge much if the sale depends on it.

I had TOT do this last october, they suppled a linksy router, and installed it for 4000 baht. You then own the router
