Not supposed to mix different rams, although I have found most of the time it works ok.

The RAM was not mixed, one bank of 1GB PC3200 was fucked - simple as that!
I bought the memory in pairs - I may appear to come across as stupid, but I am not that daft! (I got fucked over - simple as that - sold a shoddy hard drive - which they replaced at their expense, sold some shoddy RAM which they replaced at their expense - my gripe is the 1000 Baht diesel cost!

I posted in the lounge thread

from reading the manual I think it will only take 2 x 1gig sticks and you only need to get slow stuff - prob 533 is the slowest you can get new now but your mobo only does 333 or 400Mhz , but the ram will still work
If you torture data for enough time , you can get it to say what you want.

Do not mix old and new RAM on the same mobo.

The RAM you purchased might be bad - has your mob run a RAM test?

Make sure that the motherboard has the capability to run the newer RAM. You might have to upgrade your motherboard. And then maybe your processor. And then maybe your video card.
