    Outlook and Hotmail

I've searched and can't find a previous question related to this, if there is I apologise.

I'd like for all my e-mail accounts to be accessed and used in one e-mail client, unfortunately Outlook seems to be the only one to do this . . . but I can't stand the program.

Outlook Express used to be ok, but it doesn't support HTTP anymore.

Incerdimail looks childish with their silly icons, not suitable for work and doesn't support HTTP

    Thunderbird, no support

    Eudora?

No idea, but I think Microsoft altered the code so everyone using Hotmail had to swap to a Microsoft product.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. An e-mail client that accepts Hotmail.

I think I want this also...if I understand what you want.

I have 4 hotmail accounts I use and I would like to combine them somehow and only open one account to get all....either 3 accounts forwarded to one....or whatever or however it works.

You can actually do that within the e-mail client using the mail rules to just send all e-mails to one inbox.

Yes, of course . . but Outlook is not an e-mail program like GMail or Hotmail, it is an e-mail client. I don't like it because it is painfully slow and keeps hanging.

I'd like to use one client for private and business e-mail accounts

I use The Bat, it handles 7 accounts without problem. For sending mails from anywhere, from any account, you need someone to provide you with a SMTP server, I'm sure there is here people more knowledgeable than me who can explain how it works.

Isn't there a program called (something like) 'Catch all'. When I was working in an office in BKK, we would give all our email addresses to the IT man and they would be delivered to our Outlook inbox.

Maybe he just diverted them from the main server, but I dont think that was the case.

What are your setting? For fun I tried to install my hotmail address on my email program, it doesn't work
The only thing I found on the net is this program
    POP Hotmail email downloader

    I tried :
    Incoming Server (POP3 Server): pop3.live.com
    Incoming Server POP Port: 995
Incoming Server POP SSL Encryption: Yes (On or Required)

    Outgoing Server (SMTP Server): smtp.live.com
    Outgoing Server SMTP Port: 25
Outgoing Server Authentication: Yes (On - Use POP username and password or Hotmail credentials)
Outgoing Server TLS or SSL Secure Encrypted Connection: Yes (On or Required)

User Name: Windows Live ID (e.g. yourname[at]hotmail.com)
Password: password used to sign in to Hotmail or Windows Live service

But failed to connect to the server

    Any other solution ?

Actually, you can have your cake and eat it too...

Without going into a lot of detail, you can access your Outlook mailboxes via Hotmail... You call also "link" multiple email accounts together so they are all accessed via the same client...

The best option I've found lately is the new Microsoft Live Mail client... It is a free download and you can install it on your local machine, then setup linked accounts from any site and have all mail sent / received from a single UI... I have MS Exchange, hotmail, gmail and live.com mail accounts all accessible via the Live Mail Client... Plus, you can access the same accounts via the web based Hotmail UI... Contacts & email synchronize across all clients...

It's a free download from Essentials - Windows Live

Still no luck, same old problem and Outlook is driving me crazy - the latest being the synchronisation for the new platform.

I've tried creating a gmail address, planting it on Thunderbird . . . no problem. I tried placing a hotmail account on Thunderbird . . . same old problem.

I thought I'd try to be clever and go into my hotmail accounts on the web and forward them to my gmail account . . .

Hotmail tells me that you can only forward hotmail emails to other hotmail or Microsoft accounts.

Fuuuuukkkkk, no wonder Microsoft is reviled . . . it covers any and every possible alternative.

Have you tried using the Outlook Connector Download details: Microsoft Office Outlook Connector 12.1 With Microsoft Office Outlook Connector, you can use Microsoft Office Outlook 2003 or Microsoft Office Outlook 2007 to access and manage your Microsoft Windows Live Hotmail or Microsoft Office Live Mail accounts, including e-mail messages, contacts and calendars for free!

I use Thunderbird by Mozzilia. It was only yesterday that I tried to put all my email accounts on to it. You'd have to check if it takes hotmail as I only have gmail and 9web accounts.

Opera browser has a built in e-mail client that will do what you want. I used it to send and recive gmail and am pretty sure it will do hotmail too. Its a fast browser also, but a little finicky at times.

    its here
