Animated graphics to usable movie file?

The following is a still from an animated graphic from Solidworks e.drawings, and it is an easm. file which I have never heard of and is not listed on Visualhub.

Any ideas how I can get this animated drawing onto a WMV, AVI, Mpeg4 or DV file?

    I'm fucked if I know.

    SolidWorks Premium
software integrates a broad range of mechanical CAD, design validation, product data management, design communication, and CAD productivity tools in a single package that's affordable and easy.
SolidWorks has a viewer but is a 3D CAD program. Maybe you should look for something easier to convert?

Ahh, so Solidworks won't have an option to export it to a video format?

^^ if there is no import filter then you are screwed,

screen capture maybe ? it's a proprietary engine for animation so no export possible

^^ No it doesn't, it has seven export options and all are IMAGE - I tried the Quicktime one and alas, I got an image, the one posted above.

Is it actually moving in the editor or is it still?

Can you break it down frame-by-frame in Solidworks?

If you can, then it's because you're not exporting it properly to QT.

You have to render the model/animation. All 3d programs work this way.

Generally speaking with 3d progs there is a model mode, animation mode and render mode. For example in the model mode, I would create my 3D model of Mickey Mouse. In animation mode, I would animate Mickey. In render, I would create a video render of the animation I created.

I'm guessing the "easm." file you referred to is the program's scene or animation mode. Rendering is a separtate process.

From wiki: "The SolidWorks Professional bundle includes the SolidWorks core product plus several add-in programs. These include:
Animator (Create AVI animations of a model in motion)"

Look for Animator in the prog, that sounds the way to go to render vids of animations/models within the program.
