To open Microsoft Office Word 2007 .docx or .docm files with Microsoft Office Word 2003, Word 2002, or Word 2000, you need to install the Microsoft Office Compatibility Pack for 2007 Office Word, Excel and PowerPoint File Formats and any necessary Office updates. By using the Compatibility Pack for the 2007 Office system, you can open, edit some items, and save Office Word 2007 documents in previous versions of Word.

Ever thought of googling? Something like "convert docx".
Mach,
You don't have the right version of Microsoft office. You need Office 2007 to open this file. If you don't have it, you can download a free trial copy and open your file. Here is the link.

Or, PM me and I'll send you my e-mail address, you send it, I'll convert it and send it back to you.

^^^ docx converter is a better option but the fuck I know how to operate it.![]()
You don't need to operate it. Download it, click on the file and it opens automatically.
Thanks very much for the help SB. I have downloaded Office 2007 trial version and it works fine!![]()

There is an addon for Office 2000 that will let you open 2007 files.
Google it.
Compatibility pack it;s called
Thanks mrsquirrel.![]()
it should even let you save them as 2007 files as well when you are finished.
Good to know that you can just convert them. So far I told my clients they have to save it under Word2003 as they can't expect me to upgrade just because they have got a new computer.
Yeah, just get the CP from Microsoft. It's dead easy.Originally Posted by Fabian
Indeed, easy done. Wish I knew hat earlier.
Just to note for those looking for the converter, it is not at the download page for your office version:
