Arrow VPNs what the go in 2025, any suggestion please

Like others I enjoy listening to BBC raio NPR and many international tv stations.

My 5 year sub expires August so once back in LOS I will be looking for a reliable VPN.

Suggestions from satisfied customers most welcome.

I am quite happy to pay and see many give discounts for multi year contracts with hikes if you just auto renew

    I read this

Best VPN Service for 2025: Our Top Pick in a Tight Race - CNET

CNET has some ideas but what is best for rural LOS where download can be as low as 8-20 out here in the sticks day time without the vpn I get about 50

I just used Ookla speedtest and got 9.81 with VPN using ais wifi package. Sim router little better, far better when locals asleep after 10pm , I am one of only about a dozen farangs in my postode , some only part time and few like my American and Swedish froends competing to watch football.

For me I'll be happy if I can get a few European channels like TF1, BBC, DR and RTE and of course BBC radio whicj will soon need a VPN , I've got a streaming box for sports which worls fine for EPL and Chamions League at night,

I use StreamVia in Thailand and have never had any issues streaming radio or using it for BBC, ITV, Netflix video, etc.

Teeveeing has some European channels as well as all the freeview UK ones and radio stations. The radio isn't catch up but you can record TV shows and watch them later. It's pretty much all I use except for the odd time I want to watch live football on SKY/BT Sports

    And no VPN needed.

Anything that is on offer unless you really need a speedy download. I have SharkVPN, fucking cheap and it downloads 5gb 4K torrents in minutes. ExpressVPN and NordVPN probably are the best but they can be pricey. Check SharkVPN, actually owned by NordVPN's parent company NordSecurity.

I've been on Nord VPN for a few years and the VPN software has been very good (the encrypted online storage is another story). But Nord has now become one of the most popular VPN providers in the world and I think it's now starting to show. In the last year when accessing sites to get live rugby feeds I've been pinged a few times as been recognised as using a VPN, Air Asia website also slows and times out frequently when using it.

When my subscription runs out later this year I'm gonna give Proton a try. I already use their secure email and encrypted online storage services so it's just a small upgrade to my current plan.
Some people think it don't, but it be.

I also use NordVPN and am mostly happy with it. I have found that HSBC in HK fails without giving a specific reason every time I have the VPN running. I once had a similar problem with Barclays in the UK, but only once. I have a UK identity with Barclays and am keen to keep it that way, so this one is important.
I was interested in putting the VPN onto my router, the plan being to get Netflix in other countries where their offering is different. NordVPN cannot do this, someone here will know why, something to do with routers using a protocol that is not supported by NordVPN because they deem it insecure.
People seem to like Express, I haven't tried it. I would never use any of the 'free' offerings. Nothing is free.

Nord is the best hands down, but express and surfshark are good, just not as good as Nord. All three of these will let you try them out free for thirty days, so jump in and get your feet wet.
