Thread: Computer's fuct. File system error

what is file system error (-2018374635) ?

Windows 10, Acer aspire F15.

I was just viewing and moving pictures from an old hard drive. I got one of those things to run another hard drive just through USB.

I can't open any pics. It says file system error (-2018374635)

I tried one of the fixes on Google. Like right clicking on empty desktop , then personalize then default., ect. But I couldn't even get to the next step. It was another file system error.

I can't even click the start tab at the bottom. Right or left click

The modem isn't connecting at all either

This thing is royally fucked it seems. This whole idea of running the old hard drive has been bugy as fuck. It asked to repair files every time I ran it. But I never did because I thought it would do more harm than good. But this time , I did click repair. And I think that's what kicked this fuckup off

Was going to try that but these new laptops done have a removable battery.

Type “cmd” and then press Ctrl+Shift+Enter to open an administrator Command Prompt.

After you have done this. Type:- chkdsk /r e: into the box that just opened.

"E" means the drive letter of the partition you want to repair. REPLACE E: WITH WHATEVER THE DRIVE LETTER IS.

Doesn't sound like your computer has a bright future. When you get a new one, consider saving things like pictures and important docs on the cloud. That way, if something goes awry with the hardware, you've still got your data backed up and easily accessed. Hope it all works out.

I ended up switching users and then was able to do the default reset

Is it sorted @backspin?

if its windows,while its running ok do a disk clean via windows cmd prompt then download a copy of your specific os to keep on dvd or thumbdrive to repair or re-install.
