    Ripper, youtube ripper that is. What's a goodun?

    I want to download some youtube videos.
    Does anyone know a good ripper? (for win 10 on desktop)

    I had one last year but it seems to have gone awry or been highjacked and keeps asking me to download lots of other crap before it'll play with me and I'm a bit dubious about that.
    It was a very simple one, no need to download an app or anything. Just went to the site, entered the url and clicked download and it opened another window and down loaded it there.
    Another one I had oppened a lonk on the youtube page. A green bar that simpoly said 'download'. Click on that and the download started.
    Can't find that one either.
    It's getting harder and harder to steal stuff off the internet.
    If we stop testing right now wed have very few cases, if any. Donald J Trump.

    I've used Youtube Video Downloader for years, like it but occasionally it gets cranky and I end up deleting and reinstalling.

    This morning I downloaded

    Robin Soft YouTube Video Downloader Pro 5.18.16 {B4tman}

    from Piratebay, and my first download+conversion is a batch of 323 videos, which ought to keep it busy for a while. So far I see it downloads max 5 at a time superfast, then slows down with conversion to mp4, then does the next batch of 5 etc...no hurry I can leave it running all day and night if need be.

    Will update later.

    Lots of efficient downloaders out there; update on my earlier post, this one seems to be working fine.

    Do any of the above have the ability to download only the audio to an appropriate file type? You know, to rip off some music. Asking for a friend...

    Whatever you try, scan it at virustotal.com before you install it. These things are common vectors for malware and spyware.

    Some downloaders can do audio only, and conversion; I can confirm the one I linked to has a 'download only audio if possible' option, and also conversion to other formats.

    Try a few, stick with what suits you.
