I've only had my new phone a few months and it's doing my head in...
About a week ago I had this notification that moisture had been detected in the charging port. When I tapped on the notification this message came up...
To my knowledge the phone hadn't been exposed to any significant moisture, other than being put in a sweaty pocket. When I tried to charge the damn thing, it made a loud beeping noise with this message...
A bit of research has shown that this has been a recognised problem in hot and humid climates... both heat and humdity we have in spades in Korat at the moment. I tried many of the suggestions on Google... to clean the port with a tissue and alcohol, blowing a fan on it, etc etc, and after a day the notification went away and I could charge the phone again.
Then it happened again, and again. A couple of nights ago I left the phone charging on the bedside table overnight, and half way through the night the beeping started with the notification of moisture detected. Now the notification is permanent and I cannot charge the damn phone using the USB port.
As a temporary measure I've borrowed a mate's wireless charger while I wait for one to turn up from Lazada, but it's far from ideal.
I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem living in hot and humid climate, and if so, if it was solved? My next step is a factory reset which I really want to avoid, if possible.
I'd be extremely grateful for any advice!
