That would be a 350 MB file in 3600 seconds...

that would be about 100 KBps

    or.....around 800 kbps.

    Sounds about right

^^^I had the setting to Multi-mode (auto selection) in the modem when TT&T changed to double speed, and I got double speed (2Mbit).
But it was unreliable with a lot of re-negotiations, dropped connections, and re-connections so I changed it to G.dmt.
It is very stable now (3Mbit after latest upgrade), and with S/N and attenuation ratios much different from what I had in Multi-mode.

So for me G.dmt works better but your cable is not same as mine so your milage may vary..

    Math... hurting... head

I dunno, it's all a bit beyond me. What I do know however is that despite all this talk of 'free' upgrades and the like I'm still paying the same as I ever was and still getting the same speed.

I have been serfing around the net for some good ADSL speed testers
    and today found this one,

Speedtest.net - The Global Broadband Speed Test

You can select a region of your choice, when I select the Bangkok region
I can get good results. But from any other region outside of Bangkok is crap.

I had the pleasure of TOT broadband at ThB1,000 per month. It lasted all of three weeks, after which I couldn't get any connection at all. For three months I complained to TOT as did the lady-friend, in Thai. All I got was monthly bills for ThB 1,000 and finally a ThB 1,000 charge for disconnecting the wretched service.

I now have a True connection costing ThB 400 per month which, after some teething problems, is working like greased lightning... and when it has failed True been superb.
