Anybody know if there is any way to enable Bitlocker if you only have Win 7 Home Premium

Bitlocker is normally only available on Win 7 Ultimate and Enterprise

Or is there any other solutions folks can recommend for encrypting and passwording external drives? (I googled TrueCrypt and 7-Zip as free options - anybody try them?)
