iPad 3/4 G Dongle ?

I have just got myself an iPad pro WI-FI model ,, ( purposely )

Now this device has the newer type of ( mini lightening ) ? connector as opposed to the earlier bigger iPad connectors .

Is there a 3 or 4 G type dongle that can either directly or indirectly attach to this iPad ? so I can purchase a bit of data on my travels with my new super bit of kit .

I remember about 4 years ago using a young ladies tiny little 12" laptop with some kind of 3G dongle attached to it in the Khapangpet area , I was sitting out in some gardens in the city and doing online banking and have to say it was incredibly fast and accurate with the signal .

Why don't you just use your mobile phone as a personal hotspot and connect your iPad to it?

Yeah true , but that means when in Thailand gaffing around getting a sim card in it + all that registering crap ,, thats just Thailand ,, Italy wants a bloody addressed letter / utility bill thingy , Spain will probably want something else etc

I was just hoping there would be an easy data only dongle thingy about

Have you tried looking at 3mobile, they do sim only deals that can be used in other countries for no extra price, not sure if Thailand is on the list but worth a lookyloo

I have the PC and android versions,
unlike most of those programs the colours don't just sit on top of each other, (though you can set instant dry) they mix and on the canvas almost like real paints.

Because you were a cheap bastard and bought the wifi only model you'll have to do as Stinky says and share your tinternet from your phone. It's a piece of piss to do though and works well.

You may wanna invest in a power bank or 2 though

Well cheap bastard ?? now really this bit of kit wi fi is £800 , bought Jan 2 iPads over the years both 3g , never really justified it as every where we go , ( except the shed in Banpak ) has wifi nowadays .

Ok will have to learn this phone thingy , I expect its on you tube like everything else is today

You cannot buy one here now for love or money ,, everyone i.e. Ebay Amazon etc is advertising them for sale ,, just click go to checkout , then see how long it is before delivery ,, its the only scribe to work with the pro , built for it and I wanted one

Not sure why you say that ,, the iPad pro is a tool for me that will pay dividends over and over as well as being a superb bit of kit .

I have got one of these as a portable showroom for my art , already 2 pieces sold straight off its gorgeous reproduction 12.9" screen as opposed to that tiny 8" Galaxy I have where all people do is squish their fingers about trying to enlarge the image on the screen because they cannot see it properly .

Yes I agree the pencil is expensive BUT its the only one designed to be used with it and it will give me hours + hours of pleasure drawing and painting away with it on location .

I have bought the dedicated Logitec keypad case that was designed for it alongside Apple and I have bought a very nice slim soft case designed for the iPad with keypad and a zip compartment to keep the pencil safely in , some fukker high hoisted my pen out my Galaxy Note !


Now lets have a look at costings and put it all into perspective before we get too excited .

iPad pro 128 gig wifi model £ 800

Keypad for above £120

Pencil for above £79

Soft case for all above £18

Total spend £1017 For a mobile showroom and many many hours of pleasure with my artwork and imagery etc .

I would like to add at this point I am ( a ) T total

( b ) Do not smoke


Lets have a look at a couple of examples of guys I actually work with , ( who BTW like you also think I am crazy spending this amount on the above )


Guy number 1. Lets call him Dave ( cause thats his name ) he smokes 60 yes sixty B + H a day @ £9.50p per pack £28.50p per day = £10.400 per year also equals regular hospital appointments now for circulation problems .


Guy number 2 . Lets just call him number 2 ( for obvious reasons ) He drinks huge amounts of alcohol all weekend and smokes dope every night , now I have no idea of the exact costings of this as he has never told me , all I know is he has told me he does more that a onner ( £100 squid ) over the weekend plus his daily dope money .He never has any money always runs out the 3rd week in the month before pay day and never goes away on holiday .

So thats £5000 a year plus

I aint knocking what the two above guys do , its up to them they work in the same job as me , its a choice we all make .

All I am doing is putting my spend I PERSPECTIVE
