Look at the bottom of that link you posted

    9/10 (About 810 EUR) 3/10 (About 150 EUR) 6/10 (About 300 EUR)
It is, half the price of a One Plus Two and just as fast.

    Yeah, buy it

It's still lower spec than an LG G3, so check to see if you can find an LG G3 (especially the version with 3gb RAM and 32gb storage) cheaper or similar price.

With Xiaomi now having a presence in Thailand and their new MIUI 7 based on Lollipop soon available, I decided to get my MI4 screen fixed, the wife haggled them down from 4,000 to 3,000 baht

China's Xiaomi has picked Thailand as the launch country for the company's smartphones in fast-growing Southeast Asia. The move by the handset giant is aimed at establishing a footprint in the region,...

Look at what a ballache the screen is to replace

    ooh Goddess mode

It can even recognise Betty's cats

Prasad, 13 August, 2015 Xiaomi Android
Xiaomi has announced the newest version of MIUI alongside the new Redmi Note 2. MIUI 7 is based on Android 5.1 Lollipop and comes with a bunch of new features.

One of the features is face detection mode in the Gallery app, that can recognize faces and sort images according to the people in it in the People tab. The software is even able to identify and differentiate pets.

MIUI 7 also has a handful of new themes, including a pink 'Goddess' theme targeted at women and as usual you can download more from the store.

MIUI also has a new feature called Mi Roaming, which acts as a virtual SIM for when you go out of your country, allowing users to purchase data packages from Xiaomi and use them instead of getting a new SIM. This feature is only available in China for now.

MIUI 7 can also let you set videos for contacts, which play when the person calls you. Lastly, there is also a Kids Mode, which restricts what content kids can access on the device.

MIUI 7 will start rolling out for Mi 2, Mi 2S, Mi 2A, Mi 3, Mi 4, Mi Note, Redmi, and Redmi Note tomorrow in China. Xiaomi will be officially announcing MIUI 7 in India on August 19.

I got one 4 weeks ago. Cheaper than fixing the screen on my Note 3.

Runs Lollipop. Quite fast. Nice screen.

It does not have Gorilla glass but I just got a wallet as Dilli suggests.

Only pants thing is it only comes in yellow or white. I ended up getting a replacement back cover in black for $12 which effectively turns it into a black phone since the front is black on all models.

how did you break that ? stand on it in your high heels ?

so far I have had a s2 and now note 2 , both just outer silicone cover and dropped to concrete/tiles several time with no problems

was waiting for the note 5 - but meh on specs -, but now I think i will get a note 4 when the price goes down

I was felling some trees in the garden and just remembered as I watched one toppling over that I think I left my fone in a plastic bag roughly in that direction. Scored a direct hit. That will normally do the job.

To its credit the Note still works. Just cracked screen.

Thanks for the info on Xiaomi.
That way I can buy the machine in Thailand.

Xiaomi has announced the newest version of MIUI alongside the new Redmi Note 2. MIUI 7 is based on Android 5.1 Lollipop and comes with a bunch of new features.

But I have one problem. The MIUI has no extra card slot. I won't be able to add external memory.
The Lenovo K3 Note has extra memory slot.

MiUI is the Xiaomi skin on top of android , so I am unsure as to what you are on about

MIUI 7 also has a handful of new themes, including a pink 'Goddess' theme
and the redmi note 2 has a memory card slot - http://en.miui.com/data/attachment/f....png.thumb.jpg

Some of you people just don't listen...

The LG G3 was the top phone on numerous lists last year; it's spec is still high compared to the current flagships, but now that the LG G4 has come down in price you can buy it very cheaply. Or, you can buy a Chinese piece of shite...

LG, Samsung, Sony iPple have years of developing these phones, they are all good. You just buy last years model, so you could go and get yourself a Samsung S3 or S4 or even S5 (if you can find them they'll be cheap), if you like Sony then the xperia ultra, last year's version is great. These are all far far better buying propositions than the brand new shiny Chinese pieces of shite!

As far as specs go, you don't need to get too excited, my wife is using my Sony Xperia which is now over 3 years old, works brilliantly and does exactly the same as a new $700 phone does. Sometimes I sit next to her downloading films; the Sony only has 3G, I have ultra fast cat6, yet they download at the same time (or withing a second or 2) because the technology was superb 3 years ag0, very little real world improvements in the last couple of years.

because hardly any server is going to deliver you data faster than the 42 Mbits that HSUPA is theoretically capable of

the only thrill of LTE is the faster ping

all this 4G nonsense is just sales smeg because "3G" worked so well on the masses

as for the chin phones , they are getting better and better , and with a gorilla glass screen protection and the ability to reflash the rom they are taking a large segment of the market.

dual sims came from the chin phones and now many high ends have dual sim versions

I'm not sure of the numbers, but I think 3G is generally in the 25mbps range whereas I've speedtested my cat 6 at close to 200mbps - sounds like a big difference, but the actually time of downloading a 1Gb film was the same. The Sony camera takes pictures as good as my G3. The G3 is supposed to be the best screen around (or it was until recently) but playing films on it is no better than on the Sony (of course Sony has Bravia technology which maximizes the streams/content). The G3 lasts 2 days on 1 charge, so does the Sony. I suspect the LG does have better wifi and bluetooth versions, but I've never had problems with the Sony.

Once we got to these Xperias, S4s and Note 2s the quality of the product and technology was/is so good that the last couple of years have offered close to zero real world improvements. I won't be buying a flagship next time around for $500+, I'll be buying a former flagship model for $250 because it will be exactly the same in the real world usage.
