    Trouble with script input

I have a reoccurring problem with my script input. As I type along it suddenly resets itself somewhere in the previous stream of type? I think I must have self initiated this anomoly, but I cannot reason how to reset the cursor so it remains in the position following the last letter typed. During the coarse of this input its done it now 3 times. Any help is appreciated.

I also keep getting messages from MS that someone is rummaging through or trying to access my user name and e-mail? I think its due to having tried to set up another email address and then deciding to cancel it...? Anyone else experiencing this?

You're probably brushing it with your palm when you type, making the cursor jump.

Touchpad has nothing to do with it. All this time has passed and it still is not corrected. I have searched all the help files for a source of this problem and nothing can be found. In fact on my MS XP help the word touchpad is not used. Help is only for keyboards.

If any of you tech types have an answer to this problem, (it just did it again), I would appreciate the help.

When you're typing keep the cursor out of the box you're typing on and it wont happen.

Worked for me in the past.

I'll try it Al. For this short test its working. But WHY! That seems odd. I'll keep trying it and see if its a remedy. Amazing! How did you know this? Out with it!

I was having the same problem with a new laptop and it was doing my head in. The problem only seemed to happen when the cursor was in the text box, or if I was using MS Word when the cursor was over the body of text.

^Its working Al but now sometimes when I hit the space bar the page rolls and I have to reset the post location. I don't loose what I've typed or jump off the text now however. Thanks. Green sent I hope.

In case you use a separate mouse you have to always switch the laptop mouse off by Fn+F6.

    ^^ Dillinger,

This fix disables the tapping application. I like the tapping application and use it all the time rather than hitting the button or enter feature.

Is there a different option in the Advanced tab for sensitivity settings fr the tap feature?

Moving the cursor outside the typing area is working, but still random scrolling occurs when hitting the space bar? Perhaps due to sensitivity of the pad adjacent to the space bar?

Tried your fix Dill, Windows XP Control Panel offers no "Mouse Settings, Advanced Tab." Still cannot get to touchpad settings.

Finally found a cure for the jumping script. Its called "touchfreeze," a software that freezes your touch pad while you're typing. Troubleshooting site I found online offered it for free and it seems to be working fine so far.

Over sensitive touch pads seem to come from all touch pad sources not just the one I have from Dell. HP and Lenova seem to be major problem areas as well.

Thanks all for your helpful comments.
