Phone signal is not good!

I live in a small village in Issan, I get a phone signal but it's not good. I try to do the Skype thing with my partner using a dongle on my laptop but it's crap. Is there anything I can buy to boost the signal? I have Satellite TV, it's called IPM someone said I could get internet through that, is that true?

Excellent idea, but I think the locals would make a tasty meal out of the poor messenger pigeon, they seem to eat everything else moving in the village.This may upset you, but I have decided to not buy the swing as it will be like setting up a buffet for all the termites in the village, and 6000 baht for a pile of shiny wood...you think I am stupid or what!

I was under the impression that the better the signal the faster the internet was....I was wrong then,the advert is misleading.Thanks for telling me as I very nearly bought one....any other ideas?

It will be quicker, but it'll still be slow compared to broadband.

we live just 100 meters from the bkk border and almost never a signal and when you can get a call it cuts off. Nobody seems to know why.
