    Look at my massive erection!

Didn't have any other options really...

3G coverage is not great at the new house, so we went with this radio thingy which was about 5,000 baht; the missus is going out to get a router today for about 2000 baht, then, when it doesn't rain, we might get some connection for 600 baht per month fee - it's not connected yet, so not sure if it works, will get back to you. Also, had to cut a forest of bamboo away to give it the space for a signal...

But, look at the bloody size of it!

Have heard average things and bad things about this service, just didn't have many options...

The local Thai experts erected it, so I'm sure they grounded it properly...

One cat's gone ferel, never see him; the other is locked in because she has gone semi-ferel too...

I don't think they'd climb up that anyways.

    I hope it works.

It'll be interesting to see how it runs. Certainly solves a lot of problems for a lot of people if you can get your internet like this. How far away from the main source can the receiver be?

If it's reasonable speed (I use the youtube benchmark, if you can smoothly stream 320p+ vids then the connection is useable), then the set up and on going fees are a bargain at that cost.

I hope to report back in the next couple of days:

    1) need a router.

    2) need to try and get a signal.

    3) need to keep a signal consistently...

I don't know exactly where the signal comes from, I'm thinking around 2kms-3kms away.

It would be the nearest mobile tower right? What carrier are you with?

^I'm not sure it's our mobile carrier (True), I think it's TOT, but I'll check with the missus. It's one of those local area radio technologies, I think they have quite a decent distance potential.

I think it's WiNet which N99 called: wide area wifi broadcast on a previous thread, might get upto 10mpbs:
    https://teakdoor.com/living-in-thaila...-internet.html (Anybody got Satellite Internet?)

I'm hopeful that the tallest contruction in the town (if not the province) will get a decent signal.

Attach to gonads with navy gauge wire ( I recommend gusher strength, for a resoant more sustained frisson ) and you will look forward to a flash of lightening ,your coup de foudre will excell any dull eveing wih a few poppers ,LSDcoke n mescal shandies with willing goats strapped to the back of BSA 250 going down Wrotham Hill.

An evening in with scrabble Eastbenders and Shunned O'Moaner is nuffink compared to glue.Pas that poxy resin baxxa

If you'd like a twelve inch retractable cover for when the Pole tax inspector calls you can collect free ,only used once as an organ cover but too small

    Your coup de foudre awaits

Thanks, Badders, that's a good thread; reading through it now.

I like this comment from Boloa: Two of my friends have had TOT round and they both have a Nanostation Installed. Its a box on top of an aerial that connects to a Router in the house. Both guys have been to TOT and they come round within a week .You can have a few different packages ...One pays about 600 for 6GB speed and one pays about 900 for 10GB...No sure what the download limit is but it might be about 700GB a month or even unlimited "

The cost of the install is 6000 Baht all in......As soon as they have had theirs for a month or so with no problems I will change over. I have tested both their speed and they are getting what TOT have told them.I nip round to their houses to do my downloading, A film can be as quick as 20 mins......streaming Films and Football is great...I can't wait to have the system put in!!

I hope I get the same...

It has been set up today; 9.5mb, all working very well. 640 baht per month.

So, if it keeps working then it'll quickly work out good value for money.
