AIS v True Move-H Speed Test

It's taken almost 30 days of ball-aching phone calls to have my telephone number changed from AIS to True Move-H.

This has been due to AIS being arse wipes and not wanting to let me go as a customer, but I was finally swapped over about an hour ago so I thought I'd post some internet speed test results.

    I'm more than impressed.

    AIS - 3.05Mbps

I took this this morning when I received the text from AIS saying I was about to be disconnected.

    True Move-H - 21.95Mbps!!!

I just took this as soon as I was connected.

I am within the "4G LTE" Zone but my phone still says 3G at the top of the screen. In my settings it now says 4G enabled, where as before it said 3G enabled.

    I'm pretty bloody impressed!

That being getting the bill calculated, to your food brought to the table to the internet.

If you are waiting for an apology or someone to make it right, it won't be slow. It just won't happen at all.

Give it some time. Things are always good out of the gate in Thailand! You will be back to dial speeds soon enough!

One of our local phone companies is selling the S4 LTE for more than the S4.

I did ask them "What's the actual point when you don't have an LTE network?", but I just got a glazed look.....

In the settings it says it's using a Bangkok server.

I don't want to do any more tests because I didn't realize they were all coming off my monthly data allowance. In my excitement I've kaned about 500mb of my 3gig limit.

I suspect with your use of the phone, you may need to get a bigger data package. How much is the 3gb at those speeds?

To compare, I have 1gb per month, just tested it at 89kps... and costs 400 baht! Supposed to be a bloody 1mb speed 3g package, yeah right...

The wifi is unlimited, just tested at 4.4mb (should be 5mb), home adsl, and costs 1600 baht per month. Bloody expensive and shite in the Middle East.

I think we pay 600 baht for the True 20mb unlimited adsl in Bangkok. What's the super fast 3g package price, Princey?

The package is normally 800bt a month including calls etc. I got a text message from them this morning saying that they are giving me 50% off for 3 months.

And yes I'm normally connected to wifi at home and work. My AIS package had a 2GB limit which did run out before the end of the month a few times.

Edit: sorry just re-read your question. Not sure of the prices on the home packages. I just asked for the 4G LTE package on my phone.

^the phone is what I was thinking about. 800 baht for fast 3g/slow 4g/20mbps is great. Thailand is cheap compared to many many other markets - inconsitent coverage, but cheap...

Is your package a 3g or 4g package?

I'm paying more for my 3g and getting less than .5% of your speed!

Took me a little while to notice how many mb the speedtest uses up each time. It's like 30mb everytime you run it! I was excited when I got true 3g in the village as well. I was on AIS edge for like 6 months and it sucked but it was all I could get. Be careful with that speedtest waste of data.
I'm not saying it was Aliens, but it was Aliens!

It's called the 4G LTE package but it says you can only get 4G coverage in the Central Bangkok District (Plus a few other places in the country) when your not in those zones you get 3G.

^never went to Saudi/Yemen border - bad enough where I am which is civilized with pleasant people, an easy job and ok (ish) money, nice food, went to a nice hotel yesterday for dinner and beer (green curry chicken), etc. & I'm still bloody bored out of me mind...

I just don't like these can beers, so I hardly drink, just don't enjoy it...
