Free Downloads - a good spread...

    Filehippo

    http://www.filehippo.com/

Nothing of note here for the experts, but for basic folk such as meself it's a good source of useful applications.

    Recently I've downloaded:

AVG antivirus, which I've found to be good.
    Realplayer.
PDF creator, which works perfectly, simply and quickly.
    Mediamonkey, my favourite music player.
    Adobe reader.
    Flash.
    Firefox.
    Others.

Lots of downloads, haven't had any problems with them and all free and in one location; very easy to understand, has simple descriptions and is easy to download.
    Cycling should be banned!!!

You have seen the top Sticky in this thread, haven't you?

    (And I don't mean Buttplug's touchscreen, either).

^ As DD has closed it, then I would say there are threads galore on here on free software, but I'll post this again, as it compares Open Source alternatives to commercial shit:

As for what you've downloaded Bettyboo,

I used Media monkey before and I liked, AVG Free is my antivirus too. I use Google Chrome rather than Firefox now. Real Player and Adobe are 2 massively bloated programs, especially Adobe which seems to want updating on a weekly basis for some reason.

Try Download.com from CNet, they review everything

Free software downloads and software reviews - CNET Download.com

    ^ thanks.

I've just downloaded Nero 11; seems to do everything (I want a good backup program). Anybody use it - like it or not?

    Interesting too.

I don't know much about s/w, I'm just an average user; with many folks in Thailand buying a laptop that comes with a 'kinda MS o/s' then filehippo seems to be a place where you can whack on everything else you need, quickly, easily and for free.

Filehippo has a free updater that reminds you when any of your programs are updated.
