It's somebody selling the service, not a potential buyer. I know that many of the private charters, both sail and power, have been decimated by the last couple of years so I can empaphise with the forming of this boat owner association. There are also quite a few who own boats and occasionally charter them without having to. Some of the rates look quite reasonable, but it depends on numbers obviously. A day charter for a catamaran for say 6 to 8 people for circa 20,000 baht, is decent value for the experience.
Again, really depends on fuel costs etc, particularly now. Less time underway by power the cheaper, but you might not get to complete the intended itinerary. Probably sail to Ratcha Yai or Noi for decent snorkeling and beach, depends on the onboard provisioning for food and drink.
^ PAG sorry i was joking. A day or two's charter as you say between a few is great, please yourselves and doesn't work out too expensive per person.
a longtail boat from rawai beach can be rented for 1500 baht to visit other islands round trip
hired a cat last year from Chalong for about 6-7 hours. think it was 25K for at least 10-12 of us. good day out and well worth it. would have been better with a load of coke and hookers but was family instead
