Unfortunately I will not make it there. I think I cannot visit Thailand this year.
i know it - i dont rate it anymore - the outdoor bit is quite small and gets quite crowded.Originally Posted by Marmite the Dog
Hmmm, that's what I feared. any other choices? I'll check out the Soi 8 one, too.Originally Posted by kingwillyhggtb
Hillbilly - The main night is really for posters only, but seeing as a few will be coming in from all over, a family get together on the sunday would be very well recieved and attended I think.
CMN - I think the date will be the 21st due to the holiday on the Monday, but I will go with whatever the votes say on the 1st of July. Is that OK?
Now lolitas would be interesting as a meeting place. You can sit, have your beer and a chat, and if someone is bored, he can go upstair for a quickie and come back relaxed
Sin Sukhumvit Soi 4 has a large roof terrace.
I know that they arranged special drink prices for a certain other Forum's P*ss Up.
I think they threw in a buffet too.
Ahh yes, but one of the owners is a complete kunt, so we shall pass on that one. Thanks for the suggestion though.Originally Posted by dereklev
actually another possibility is the White House on soi 8 or soi 10 i think.Originally Posted by Marmite the Dog
have an outdoor and indoor area - pool tables TV's - reasonablly roomy - food fair price and OK - they dont really get much business due to location - so we could almost have the run of the place.
Family friendly also !
the owners name is Kieth - not a bad bloke
Just check out this joint please!!

I thought I'd already dismissed that place?Originally Posted by aging one
Seriously though, it's quite a way from the Skytrain down Soi 36, plus it will probably be full of baby eaters, so I'm not sure the more civilised TDers would like that too much.
Whats a baby eater?
Is that someone like Mrs Squirrel or Pooly?
^
I'm guessing wildly that he's referring to our brothers from over the pond.
I would have thought that if a person had not yet voted in the poll, they wouldn't be allowed any input as to where the event should be heldOriginally Posted by aging one

Okay - seriously, are seppos also called baby eaters?
Smeg, DJPat and myself are organising a 'TeakDoor' pariah get-together at the same time.Originally Posted by Butterfly
We'll prolly go to Q-bar.
Will the night bazaar/beer garden at lumpini still be open then?
Sounds like my kind of night. Should we bring cash with us ? or expect to find sponsors to pay for our drinks ?Originally Posted by poolcleaner
I'm hoping DJPat will pull some strings at the door so bring cash I suppose!Originally Posted by Butterfly
OK. We just checked out The White House and tried to check out the Beer Garden but either we didn't walk far enough or it is now a pizza place.
The White house was quite nice, but we won't be going there for the following reasons.
1. Not laid out in a way to accommodate 20-odd people.
2. Music was too loud.
3. Still a semi knocking shop.
4. Only rated a 4.5 on the burger index.
I will try to check out the German Beer Haus on Soi 11 tomorrow.
It's more than a year ago I went to the beer garden, may well have changed by now, just 100yards on from the "lolitas" soi, on the right.
