What I didn't know from preious visits was that there is a modern day temple inside the outer wall. I wandered over and in a small shrine I found two young novise reciting scriptures. It was great and they were chanting different things out loud.

I took photos for ages and they were completely unbothered. Then a group of Japanese came along with a Khmer Tour Guide. He decided he knew best, told them to stop reciting at the same time and one should talk and the other should listen. They were clearly bothered by this group and looked away from their cameras and tried what the man had said.

As soon as they were gone, they went back to louding chanting at the same time and I went back to taking pics.

Mr bobcock you had the 100% admiration of renowned photo critic Nok (well, she always criticises my efforts) until this one.
"Ghost, I do not understand . . . not like"
she has looked and looked at this one, studied it, scrolled up and down, it's given her the creeps and she doesn't like you any more. Even without having met you.
    but otherwise, top marks!

Bring her to the Phuket Tens or even the Bangkok Tens in the new year. She can meet me in person and i'll charm her back to loving me.

Sadly I'm away to the UK next Thursday so I won't be here for the kids tour next week.

This one was slow exposure taken with the flash fired twice from different angles. Had to put new batteries in the flash as at first I couldn't get it to recharge quick enough

    Another HDR shot.

Next stop was the Bayon. This is the temple in the middle of Angkor Thom which has something like 80 towers each with 4 faces.

A couple of evenings we ate in the dead fish restaurant. it's probably raved about in Lonely Planet guides but was quiet the nights we went. It is famed for the crocodiles that live in the restaurant and also has some Khmer dancing.

The food was good, the waiter was excellent and the dancers sweet and they even came at sat with the kids, particularly my mates son who has a shock or blond hair.....

Next stop was a temple I'd never been to before called Banteay Kdei

One of the later restored temples with a lot of original carvings in place.

Jaw-dropping pix!! Thanks for posting them!

Going to Angkor in half an hour; I was planning to take pictures but now I think I'll reconsider, maybe I leave taking pictures if Angkor to those infinitely better than me and instead enjoy the place live with my own eyes... phone camera for snapshots, that's it.

Some excellent work. I was just at Angkor Wat last year and these images reminded me of why I am anxious to get back.

It's a very general question, for some nothing, some, a few tweaks of levels and some are already noted as being HDR's.

Other than the HDR's very little in other words.

They still have the cables running from Bar to tables to deliver drinks to the tables? I found that very interesting. Also that time the used carpet on the pool table. Wonder if it all still the same.

Just caught up with this excellent thread.

Very good job dealing with that brutal light.

One of these days I'll have to give shooting RAW and photoshop a whirl.
