Each is worth $67,000 as of today. You can do the multiplication.

But... but.... that's not possible because the S&P blah blah blah

Oh it's gonna be an ugly one when the US market opens.

Speaking of that, Intel might be a good pick up. They tanked after their big announcement but the world need chips and Intel has always been a leader. It's definitely a good price but also a long term hold.

Anyway. Suit up and hold on.

DXY is falling and the Euro is rising. So much for the "flight to safety" into the USD bullshit

Their problem is they are not the leader any more. TSMC are.

Intel have been caught with their pants down.

Agreed HB, however with the sensitive IP issues at hand and TSMC in an offshore location, the US will invest accordingly to keep that technology here.

Again IMHO, it's a long term hold but one that should be a good investment as this AI technology advances and the US wants to control what technology China has access too.

That said, as I grow older, at what point do you stop investing in futures? It all looks good on paper but in the big picture at some point, Cash is King and always will be. If I will pony up some cash for Intel it will be for my daughters as is my Amazon and Rivian Stock.

Buffet off loaded over $60 billions worth of Apple.

Tech stock has peaked and now not the long term winner.

Banks and Beer, you can’t go wrong.

Apple, like Tesla, was always WAY over valued and doesn't surprise me he off loaded it. Apple is a cult following and no longer that "Super cool" smartphone that other envied you owned. Same with Tesla. Tesla cars are dated crap with boring styles. They have lived their lives. Smart move by Buffet.

Tech and E-commerce are still the ticket to invest and make some cash.

But I still at this point.."cash is king"

When stocks are taking cap dives larger than most company capitalisations you know someone got in too late and the smart money left ages ago and is sat in the bar having a cigar

Market corrections are pretty normal. No need to fear them unless you were planning on the upside or like many do, hedge the gains with loans against it and then watch it sink and now live with a double whammy a loan they have to pay and the stock under water.

That's not an issue. Most of Intel's revenue is from PC processors and bits, and most PC's are made outside the US.

Most of it seems a correction for Japan's recent actions and tech is the obvious target.

    It'll come back.

Well it's way ahead of where I though it would be at this stage.

Even if it stays around there till earnings day, I'd be happy.

FFS Harry your like an excitable child. I don’t think long-term investing is something you would be good at.

    How much have you invested?

I agree. He should have got in and got out. Like a day trader. Its driving him nuts as he probably looks 2 or 3 times a day.

Long term investing is a patient game. The market is cyclical and can be impacted by many variables.

I have had Amazon now for years. It just sits and goes down a bit, then goes up nicely but it is a long term investment really geared for my daughters when I check out.

Who said anything about long term investing?

If you'd bothered to the read the thread you'd see I'm waiting for the August earnings report and then getting out.

    Try and keep up.

My reply on being asked why I hadn't already taken a profit:

Because there's still room for improvement, and virtually every source has it as a buy or a hold.

As I said, I'm hanging on for the earnings report at the end of August.

I think it would silly to do it before then.
How the fuck do you suddenly equate this to "long term investing"?

I have a chunk of nVidia I bought for the wrong reasons and I'm having fun with it.

Unless there's an absolute disaster I'll take a nice profit at the end of August and leave a bit for the LONG TERM.
The next post may be brought to you by my little bitch Spamdreth
