The last few days I have been extremely busy at work. I have received some photos but I can’t find time to add so many comments.

If you can tell me the tile cost plus labor and how many square meter of roof?

Hi Panthip,I am really enjoying your Thread,and think the progress so far is Brilliant.I hope you don't mind me asking,but i am after some advice about your Retaining/Boundary wall.next spring we are going to look at having the landfill put in place on our land,and will have to do the same as you have.what hieght did you have to build the wall?shown in your first photo.What contruction method did you use?,and last but not least how much did it cost you to have this done i.e price per meter.we will be looking at building 200 linear meters

Was this vastly more expensive than a standard installation?

Hilbilly, does this include the main service- once the main service reaches the perimeter of your property does it go underground and then come up at the house?

Think Hillbilly is snoozing so I will answer. I too have underground electrical.

The only extra cost to under ground is the rubber tubing needed to provide a flexible "conduit" between the road and the house. I can't recall the cost per meter but not much. Of course the labor to dig the trenches is an adder. Unless you have a huge length to run the small extra cost is well worth it.

My underground wiring starts at the meter on the edge of the property, runs to the house then up inside the exterior wall to the electrical distribution box in the house. At the meter I have a metal U similar to a plumbing trap. The U faces down and is sealed to prevent water from entering the rubber sleeve.

Being underground improves the look and if good rubber conduit sleeve is used will be very durable. Downside is any digging in the property can result in cutting the underground cable. Can be a shocking development. Make sure you show on your property drawings where the cabling runs. Same for water pipes as well.

Now I’m back home again and can find time to answer. Yes you are right the tiles are from CPAC Monier.

I think they are 65 thb each and they weigh 5 kg each. The labor is part of the contract and I don’t know how many square meters. We have been informed that the flat tiles made the roof framework more complicated than it would have been with curved tiles.

The retaining wall is about 40 meter long and the cost was 100000thb. It is built by my wifes BIL Khun Tep. I think the wall is about 2m of height.

Here we have the progress for the last week.

The insulation are in place under the tiles.




All the interior walls are finished rendered.




Most of the frontage is also done.




The last part of roofing and rendering is being done.
