Hi, just registered - been lurking for a while!
Just want to say thanks to Thai Dupp for a very well written, entertaining and educational build journey - learned a great deal which will be put to good use eventually!
All the best with your house, I know it's been a while since it was completed.

Have you made any changes or you're happy with everything and have finally "retired" from building/project management?

Greetings, Balman! So glad you found it useful. It has been a while as you say. Various unplanned family issues (not this direct family) have conspired to slow down our plans, mainly due to financial constraints! I got back in August 2020 from Dubai, to start my retirement, so over 3 years now. Quite a bit has been done, in the house, and the garden but no swimming pool, yet (damn) the pool money had to be used elsewhere. It still coming, though.

Not really made too many changes, but 'if' i was doing it again, I would probably replace the 'concertina' folding doors in dining room, living room and bedroom as it's really not needed. They all work, nothing wrong with them, but a smaller entrance with solid door would have been a better bet for us.

I have not just been doing 'nothing' for 3 years and am aiming to tell all in a post or two shortly!
