And I was converted to Tofu tonight. A dish I have never previously been able to fathom. Deep fried with chilli dipping sauce was the trick.

I was like a dog off the leash as Senorita was partying a bit hard lastnight and needed some RnR

I thought I would take a sneaky snap of this Chinese lady who had got dolled up for the occasion

I tip-toed off sneakily to the next car but she came over and asked if I had taken a photo of her. I was fumbling and mumbling for a reply and worrying that she was gonna kick off and I was not gonna be able to come back to Cooly Rocks till 2027.

But she then asked me if I would come down to the beach with her to take some pics of her dress in the sunset

As a proper gent I could not refuse of course

I was using my proper camera which meant I had to take down her particulars for the purposes of proferring the pics for the lady's facebook.

It did not hurt that the Indo friend, who was doing the cooking in the kitchen, while the fellas guzzled the brews on the balcony, was sa'mokin hot (lucky fella she is married to), which may have coloured my impression of the tofu to some extent.

Superb post Looper, capturing everying from mechanical fetish to more tactile occasions. Well done, chapeau.

Phuket has a vegetarian festival every September, notable for it's processions from various Chinese related temples, with piercing of all parts the norm. Once you've seen it, not that appealing anymore. However, the street stalls selling vegetarian food, not least of which deep fried tofu is pretty good. For around a week at this time, M'Sahib spills the food. Need to explain, the mention of deep fried tofu and chilli sauce, I probably get offered it at least once a day during this festival.

Some photos of the last festival I actually bothered to go to, around 2009 I think. Got loads of them, but these are quite representative.
