I like this thread,i often wonder what other posters are listening to.
76 pages and going strong.......
Tarantula - Pendulum !
Frank Zappa: "Solo Guitar"
Frank Zappa and Carlos Santana
Iron Maiden - Killers
Primal Scream - Sometimes I feel so lonely.....I do you know....
Currently listening to the new Tool CD. Didn't even know it was out until I saw it at the store. So far I have to give it a mixed review. I am normally a huge Tool fan but this one sounds like Lateralus all over again but with bad Tom Morelo type guitar solos and less rhythmic base lines.

^ Which album of theirs would you recommend to a beginner?
Btw... Pallas - The Sentinal
Depends what you are into...
Album#1 Opiate....Kind of an indy alternative thing punk/metal fusion.
Album#2 Undertow....Rhythmic/Heavy sound, most conventional album.
Album#3 Aenima...Also Rythmic and heavy but slicker production more melodic and a bit more of a themed album...still has the odd scream track.
Album#4 Lateralus...Very base intensive melodic sound with long tracks has repetitive deep base melodies.
Album #5 see comments in post above.
try download the following tracks for an overview..
Prison Sex (Undertow)
Stinkfist (Aenima)
Aenima (Aenima)
Schism (Lateralus)
Parabola (Lateralus)
I think Aenima is probably my overall favorite track.
This site has some very short samples you can listen to.

^I have on our behalf.....
Gin and Milk - Dirty Pretty Things......Mmmm gin and milk....nothing ventured....
Let me know if you like the Tool stuff...I found it took a while to get into some of it but I am hooked now. I think its the heavy melodic base lines that get me.
Will do....Let me know if you like the gin and milk....I found it took a while to get into it but I am hooked now
Checked out Gin and Milk site there were to live tracks playable there. Not too bad, I like the indy thing with the old british amp sound. Not sure if I would spend money to buy it but I wouldn't change the radio station away from it either !
Triple J Radio
We are Scientists - With Love and Squalor <- That's the name of the album it's not a couple of strangely named people I'm listening with.....just in case any of you were confused or concerned....
"This Magic Moment" by Loou Reed.
Whole new dimension on the song man.
England kicking Aussie arse at rugby.
Okkervil River - Black....I know nothing about this group - but they are very good indeed.
Tool - Ænima
Its pretty good on the first listen. GoW likes it too.
She's just saying that to be polite and avoid a pointless argument - women are like that.Originally Posted by Marmite the Dog

Great song. Odd looking group.
''Weird Al'' Yankovic - You're Pitiful
Pretty funny parody of James Blunt's "You're Beautiful". It's available for download, free, at http://media.thechrispirilloshow.com...urepitiful.mp3
Black Sabbath& Ian Gillan: "Trashed"
