Shit how could I forget this band.
..And of course bullfrog is my name on other boards...
,,,and I have buried 2 of my sisters to Roberta Flack...The first time ever I saw your face...
I went to a similar dinner concert and she, Roberta Flack was absolutely superb.
What a voice....thanks for that
For all you youngsters out there, the awesomeness of this video is that this is our generations equivalent of Lady GaGa, Mylie Cyrus, and Justin Bieber on stage performing at the same time . EXCEPT, in this video, they all have REAL TALENT and don't need to use autotune.
I wonder why nobody noticed that Stings microphone was not working! You see him screaming into it and you don't even hear him.
Shit I forgot to mention The Police as they were my favourite Band at the time.
Saw them just after they released Roxanne and many times after that.
Great band, innovative sound and beat and a great drummer.
Used to hang out at a little club in Preston called the Warehouse ,late 70's early 80's , aprrox 200 capacity , too many bands to remember but the highlights were getting a boot in the face from Mensi(Angelic Upstarts) , having a ruck with Black Flag - then getting wasted with Henry Rollings at the "after party" , and having a philosophical discussion with Mark E Smith after a Fall gig . My fondest memory though is going to a Vice Squad gig and having Beki Bondage autograph my Knob - and yes she did have tiny handwriting . Fck those were the days , now I get dragged to the likes of Potato & Titanium "gigs" with the occasional reprieve when Carabou plays Nong Khai.

Never saw Black Flag but did see 3 Rollins Band shows in Sydney at the same time sonic Youth weere there.
One of the very few musical highlights of my time in Oz, but I did like seeing Divinyls on a regular basis. Sadly Chrissie never signed my knob.
In Bangkok I've seen:
Gwen Stefani
Bryan Ferry
The Pretenders
Erasure
Oasis
Pet Shop Boys
Stereophonics
The Police
Robbie Williams
There's a couple more I can't recall too.
I used to go and see Futon regularly in Bangkok, shame they imploded....
You'd be lucky Bob as she only touches herself.Originally Posted by Bobcock

Actually the first time I saw her was in a lift in Boston and I thought she looked as rough as fuck, Afghan coat stinking of Patchouli Oil.....
....but I grew to love her.....apparently she suffers from MS or something these days?
You mean you never seen this band Bob?Originally Posted by Bobcock
Dunno, tell me their name as I cannot see You Tube at work...
I can remember her being arrested at a concert for going on stage without knickers or something along those lines.Originally Posted by Bobcock

Nope never saw the Hoodoo Gurus, I didn't see a huge number of bands in my time in Australia.
In the UK between 1981 and 1987 I saw probably close to 1000 gigs, the most I saw in a month was 34, many times I was at one 7 nights a week.
By the time I got to Australia I was a bit overcooked on that score and to be frank there wasn't the quality of bands of that I liked available to see there, London was just the greatest place to live for me during that area, Sydney didn't cut it on that front although I did enjoy some of the local pub bands. I think after a time working in the industry (even on a casual basis) to be away from London meant I didn't have to take music quite so seriously.
I saw Suede in Bangkok. They were OK, but I didn't enjoy being in a packed club as much as when I was 16.
Oi was horrible, anything promoted by Bushell would have to be.
As for the Anarcho bands, most of them were irritating apart from CRASS and some of the Poison Girls stuff, but I don't feel they killed it, they actually dragged the death out longer and slower, more horrible like....
