Only ever been to one as with 'festivals' it was Luccia del la moore, probably spelt wrong, at Shevchenko Opera House May 1970 in Kiev. In the last part there is a wonderful aria, added to that they ponce around it kilts all the way through which seemed odd in the USSR at that time.

Surprised Maria Callas hasn't been mentioned yet.
She was one of the best performers (IMHO) of classical opera.
Not such moments.
