She estimates it will take two years to clear the debt that accumulated in the more than two years she spent sending money to con artists.
    that's alright then.

    bloody hell.

    would take me 4 lifetimes.

Spears said it would take her at least three to four years to dig out of the debt she ran up in pursuit of the non-existent pot of Nigerian gold.

Been getting these for years, its unbelivable to me that some people actually fall for this shit, or the fake banking sites with a incorrect web address.

Anyone who falls for this should be banned from using the internet or not even allowed to own a computer for there own safety.

Absolutely. I don't feel sorry for these idiots, in this day and age to not be aware of these scams is to be a total fool.
It's like a movie where the lead character does so many stupid things you start rooting for the bad guys.

Damn! Beat me to it, but you're right. The number of Aussies who fall for scams like this is staggering. Aussiestan is the main target of these boiler room places too.

Fools, and their money, are not restricted to geography or nationality.

There are fools everywhere just waiting to lose it.

one in ten Brits is Internet fraud victim

None more so than the dumbass poms ... emphasis mine

"A government report based on a survey was published and stated that one in ten British users was a victim of online fraud in 2006. The survey was conducted and devised by Get Safe Online together with the BBC News web site. The report based on the survey has been titled Internet Safety: The State of the Nation. The report stated that the 3.5 million people who experienced online fraud lost an average of £875. Many of these victims had failed to take basic precautions, which included installing up to date Internet security software of using different passwords for different sites.

In spite of growing concerns about Internet security, fewer than half the 2,441 people surveyed believed that they were responsible for their own safety online. Most claimed that banks, stores or Internet companies were responsible for stopping fraudsters.

The report stated that 12 per cent of Internet users had experienced fraud in 2006. Six per cent of the users were victims of fraud shopping online, while four per cent were victim of bank account or credit card fraud.

In fact, it can be derived that this rise in fraud reflects the increasing use of the Internet in Britain."

1 in 10 British Internet users is a fraud victim, Internet Safety report states - TechShout

The Poms always whinge it someone elses fault. "Whinging Poms" is a household word here in OZ. There is an old saying about Poms in OZ. --- "They come out, they wont go back, and they are a pain in the arse!"
But thats being respectful compared to what we think about Yanks. Not that it would penetrate the thick skins of the Yanks anyway.
