why the fukk do you think we care.

this is maybe your worst thread ever.

I have 48 gigs free on my d drive and about 38 free in my ubuntu partition.

i manage my disc space well, by burning dvd's as often as i need to and also moving a lot of important stuff like Babylon 5 to my external hard drive.

well I was hoping for some useful advice

last time i moved all my videos and music to external hard.

so my ipod got wiped clean and then i wanted to use/watch a movie at work and didnt have the drive with me.

i'm also deadly afraid that the external harddrive will fail and i will loose everything.

my dvd drive is not working properly and i cannot make new disks

cds are too small and just take too long and are not reliable enough

Buy a 250GB laptop drive for about $125 and a case for $10.

Take out your old HDD put it in the case. Put the 250GB into your laptop and bobs your uncle and is fucking your aunt.

De-activative the Windows Restore thing, that's like 10GB free up already

Then empty your Explorer cache, probably another 2GB,

Empty your FireFox cache if not done automatically

Use the properties function for your Windows and Profiles directory and use the "live compression" feature, another 2GB saved

Another thing to check is to see if your hard drive is partitioned. If so, maybe only the C: partition is getting full and D: partition has lots of free space.

    Sharon says a 250GB 2.5in for $125 is expensive.

    Is it?

full hard drive 11-06-2008 12:53 PM sharon That's expensive

    She is right as well.

A 320GB is now $100. That has happened in the last month or so.

you'll probably only shift a couple of gigs at most, more likely couple of hundred megs by doing that.
