NFL Europe - Gone but well actually forgotten as well

BBC report the closing down of NFL Europe.
I guess it will be sometime before it can be called the world game. Though the title game was called World Bowl

Losing money and playing out of season it never really attracted an audience. This last season has seen it limited to 5 teams in Germany and Amsterdam.
Perhaps it may be resurrected as NFL Germany or NFL US Army Base.

That being said there is strong demand for the real thing as is seen by tocket sales in the UK for the Giants Dolphins game in October.
The focus wil now be on regular season games outside of the US.

NFL has certainly een losing out to basketbal in terms of world appeal

I used to watch the Worldwide league that was played at the old Wembly. Only because we had a free executive box. The cheerleaders were nice.

    Yeah, that's it.
Don't know what they were thinking, why watch grid-iron when you've got rugby?

Free food & grog is a good incentive.

    NFLE

Good experiment, though. Japan, Germany, and of course Canada also play.

Players could get around 35-50K and POSSIBLY a shot at being man 52 or 53 on an NFL roster.

Always wondered how Amsterdam was selected? Couldn't imagine some of the NFL players I know focusing on football, there.
