I do now , but that wont help with the case of pre war baked beans my Grandad left me , Jan put chilli in em to spice things up a bit

I either but tins with a ring pull or I use a camping style tin opener, the old fashioned style with no moving parts.

always use the horizontal type ie the one that cuts round below the upper join..works well..even brought one from Canada from MIL..

still can't post a pic...

Got mine from Tesco after going through several, some very expensive. this one was just over 100 Baht and has worked everytime for over a year now.

Just don't buy cheap chinese crap - they always break because the cogs are made of plasticine painted metallic silver.

I can confirm.... this one, the P-38 works, always. Nicked mine from the personal outfit in that lovely green duffle bag, somewhere early 70s*. There's also a slighty bigger variety, the P-51. Handy because they're always lost in the drawers.



* Still looking over my shoulder though, you'd to pay for the missing items...

My dad used to nick loads, he would always come back off exercise with tins and tins of "compo". the oatmeal biscuits were nice although you could easily break your teeth on one, chocolate and sweets

yes, we also had this stuff at home... my father worked in construction of baracks in europe at some time...

i remember the tin openers, they are very good...
we also had one, which wouldnt leave sharp edges...

no english, and every tin was a surprise... the coconut tins were rare, but awesome...
the cookies were good, too...
my brother liked the fucking peanut butter...

the tin opener isnt all that easy to use, but at the end it opens a tin...

Had one for twenty years. Still opening tins with no error.

Almost lost the end of my finger opening a corned beef can with that clockspring of razor-sharp metal that it produces. Still have the scar now..

Okay, I was drunk and hungry after coming home late from the pub. I abandoned the corn beef sarnie and put the chip pan on instead.
