Thread: Four French Nationals Missing in Pattaya Sea Found Safe on Island

Four French nationals who went missing at sea after departing from Jomtien Beach on a fishing trip on May 1st, 2024, have been found safe today.


The group, consisting of four male foreigners, left Jomtien Beach for Koh Maravichai at around 8:00 AM on Wednesday morning. However, their vessel was later discovered floating near Koh Si Chang, but authorities could not locate the individuals.


This prompted an immediate search operation from Pattaya Tourist Police, Pattaya Marine Rescue Volunteers, Pattaya Port Authority, and other relevant agencies. Their efforts eventually led to the discovery of the four foreigners on Koh Maravichai on Thursday, May 2nd. Fortunately, none of the foreigners were harmed, and they were all in good and healthy condition.

The group was subsequently transferred to a nearby beach in Sattahip. They were later publicly identified as Mr. Adrien Simom, 38, Mr. Mehdi Benchoula, 47, Mr. Vincent Ferrer, 30, and Mr. Stefan Stauat, 32. All of them are of French nationality.


According to Mr. Simon, he and his friends went diving and fishing off Koh Maravichai. However, they left their anchored boat unattended. The boat then somehow became unanchored and drifted away. When Mr. Simon and his group resurfaced, they could not find the boat, so they gathered at the Maravichai island and spent one night there until rescue arrived.


The men expressed their gratitude to the rescue workers.
