    TGM crap - horrible!

    Fuking horrible...

    Avoid it like the plague!

So, it was a desperate day indeed when my BigC shop needed a bit of ham and I was forced, yes, arm beind me back, to the TGM counter. Not to upset the locals (especially the TGM girl with long legs; I love long legs on a Thai girl...), or was it penis behind my back? Neat trick if you can pull it off (Oi, stop it!)... So, I got this 68.50 baht shite back home and left it at the back of the cool-box (not that fukin cool...) to rot. Tonight, after a few days devoid of shopping, me arm, in desperation (the missus was asleep, haha), went back a bit deeper than usual into the 'box', and pulled out the German shite (not literally, please refer to above). As it tuns out, it's bloody lovely! Tastes like Pepperami; I could hear Rick Mayal as I bit into the sausage: argggghhhhhhhh! Young Ones stylee and then some.

So, I've found a German bit of sausage that I'd like to bite on, yum yum. Only 68.0 baht, can't complain about that...

    (wrong colour I know, but...)

Did I mention how it goes well with Chang?

Bloody nice it is, I'm gonna buy the stuff in bulk; exceedingly morish with a beer.

^^ The major German sausage brand. I first noticed them at Foodland, and they had a shop at Thonglor about 10 years ago as an exclusive hem/sausage provider, but lots of their 60/70/80 baht stuff is distinctly average. They seem to be the number 1, or were, at the Foodland cold meats section. Most of it is quite underwelming, but not all..

^ Thetyim, what do you think of their stuff?

Never tried it, I live in the sticks.
The shops here don't stock anything exotic.
I have to drive 250kms to get a lump of cheese that tastes like plastic.

    Some good ones here...

Ten years ago, I lived in Thonglor doing the big one... TGM was a big thing, but expensive and tasted bad by international standards, but much better than anything else available. Since then, things have changed a lot. You can buy a lot of good stuff at decent prices (the last 10 years, 5 maybe) has seen a massive improvement, IMHO.

So, I just ignore it as a has been that never was. Thus, I was very happily surprised by the closest to a good Pepperami as I've had in the last 10 years. And, it goes really well with a beer; nicely greesy, tasty and of nibble size!

Thetyim and Janda, get a life for fuks sake - Bkk is all but Basingstoke or Milton Keynes, nowadays; M&S, Waitrose, etc. I had some cake today (a soon to be married colleague went on a cake testing day and brought back some free stuff) that was bloody lovely; it was like a Sunday trip to Hamstead with your gran...

Cheese is a massive problem. I've paid 350 baht+ for average Edam, maybe 200g... It's a bad deal. I actually picked up a full flavoursome Edam (is that a contradiction) at BigC a few weekd back. It was one of the best cheeses I've ever tasted, but it has been replaced by processed stuff... I just knew that I should have bought the entire bloody stock; I've never seen the brand before or since. Arghhhhh.

Isn't it more Bangmot that deal with the 'bits n pieces', FP?

^ It's close, and that's gotta be good when you need a quick Bobbit-repair. Sirriraj is good for the longer term illnesses that Thailand provides: stomach cancer, insanity, that kinda stuff.

    ^^ Missing M&S? Surely that's perfectly normal!
