Yum pla dook foo is one of our favorites. Such an unusual dish. Really nothing like it. I've watched them fry up the pla dook and I still don't know how it ends up so sponge-like.Originally Posted by cali kid
I think the crispy pak boong salad is a relatively new culinary invention. There's a place in Korat that does a great job with it: huge big pak boong leaves. I keep wondering where they get them as the think Chinese variety is more popular now.
Another place that does a good job with this dish is Rot Sabiang, the train-themed restaurant that is across from the Ambassador (Soi 11) in Bangkok.
