T-Mobile USA to Offer Customers the Thinnest and Lightest Full-QWERTY BlackBerry Smartphone

New BlackBerry Curve 8900 Smartphone Delivers GPS, Wi-Fi, Enhanced Multimedia Capabilities and More
Bellevue, Wash., and Waterloo, Ontario - T-Mobile USA, Inc., and Research In Motion (RIM) (Nasdaq: RIMM: TSX: RIM) today announced that T-Mobile® will offer its customers the new BlackBerry® Curve™ 8900 smartphone, the thinnest and lightest full-QWERTY BlackBerry smartphone.

In addition to a sleek, stylish design, the powerful new smartphone includes a large, vivid display – the highest resolution available on a BlackBerry smartphone – as well as a 512MHz next generation processor for fast and responsive performance. The handset’s advanced multimedia capabilities include a 3.2-megapixel camera with image stabilization, digital zoom, flash and the ability to record video and play video, a music player, a 3.5mm stereo headset jack and headset, and a hot-swappable microSD/SDHC memory card slot with a 256MB card inserted. BlackBerry - Press Release

    The specs

Taken from this site T-Mobile officially announces the BlackBerry Curve 8900, coming in February | BlackBerry Cool

This morning, T-Mobile and RIM put official word to what BlackBerry Cool readers have known for awhile. The T-Mobile BlackBerry Curve 8900 will launch this February, at an undetermined date (although we have two good ideas for you). While there’s no word on pricing yet, we do know that T-Mobile is including a 256MB MicroSD card in the Curve 8900, which is so small as to be practically useless. You can find a link to the BlackBerry Curve 8900’s specs (PDF) and RIM’s Curve 8900 page below, as well as the full press release after the jump.

Still, they have some nice older style ones for sale in Thailand here.

I don't think it will be such a long wait. One could always purchase this particular item online, yes? If you're not too much of a Luddite, blackberries are kinda fun to have!!

I was last in Hong Kong about 4 years ago, the pc stuff they had then in the shops has only been out in Thailand for a year or so, so it seems we are being kept well behind in all this hi-tech stuff

Hint of gayness about them, probably ok until you

Lose it, get it stolen, leave it in your backpocket and break it by sitting on it and realise you dont use half the features on it.

It's coming. Will probably get lost in amongst the deluge of gay mobile phone threads though.

I've got the Curve 8320. I'll ask my mate who works for Blackberry when the 8900 comes out over here. I think you can only buy 2 models here, the one I've got now and the one I lost The 8820.

Nearly had this one stolen but got it back before the thief could get out the door!

I can see why people get pissed off with them because your available 24/7 but I missed it when I went a few weeks without after loosing my first one.

+I've stuck an 8Gig micro SD in it so I use it as an Mp3 instead of the ipod. It syncs all my itunes when I connect to my laptop. I know you can do this with most phones but I've only just worked it out.

A few of my friends have them and they seem to be a good thing if you are working and on the move all the time .
Wouldn't mind one myself mainly for the email function BUT !!
If you have fingers like a bunch of bananas that are a bit arthritic there is no F*ckin way you can use those little keys ! I have tried !!!

Watching the youtube vid the 8900 is pretty much the same as the 8300 series just with the latest screen and an updated camera.

No off button? I don't think I like that idea. Not necessary to be available 24/7.
