Even for the US it is difficult to make a compelling argument, it very much depends on one's point of view and criteria what constitutes an overall bias.

It is also interesting to have a look at how the media select themes and topics at the expense of dropping others - inevitable given the wealth of info available. I would say this is equally if not more important than in which direction the reporting of these themes are slanted overall. It provides the bandwidth on which attention is focused.
There are country-specific differences which are easier to see from the outside and portray the general political direction in a more fundamental way than the perceived variations in favouring one part of the party-political spectrum of that country over another.
