I think Hillary accepting SoS is a bad move for her at this stage. If things go badly for Obama over the next four years she will be tied to it by default. Thus making hard for her to run against him in the primary’s in four years time.
If things go well for Obama then he’ll be the lock in four years to run again for the blue team, and where will Hillary be? Surely she won’t hang around as SoS for eight years?
I think she would have been better off hanging around in the Senate, moving up the seniority chart, and waiting out the next four/eight years.
I think offering the SoS job to Hillary is a bad move for Obama – now he will have her and Bill in the shadows of everything he does internationally. A real risk of people questioning who is calling the shots on international issues. Especially considering the international front is probably where he and Hillary agree the least on things.
