The Westerner beggar at MBK

He is still there, 4 months and counting.

I stood opposite him for 15 minutes earlier whilst waiting for a mate. there was a Thai lady with a baby begging next to me. The Westerner bagged 220 baht in those 15 minutes, the Thai lady 3 Baht.

During my final two minutes of waiting, I went over and asked someone who was handing him 50 Baht to give it to the woman instead, and briefly explained why. They did, which pleased me.

Perhaps the Thai lady is as much a scam artist as this Westerner, but I felt good about my little intervention. He looked upset, but he is about 8 stone of bones and not up to doing anything to me.

I have had tough times before and wanted to help. I am such a non violent person but if I ever saw him again I would walk up to him demand all his takings as recompense and if he refused I would kick him in the teeth with my Doc Martins before the c.unt even got a chance to stand up.

Because the cnut has a sign saying "no work...can you help? 100 Baht 500 Baht? 1000 Baht?

1) Why the fuck should he have work here?
2) He is a greedy shit asking for that kind of cash (but it seems to work, so who am I to knock it!)

One Western woman actually had a go at him whilst I was watching, saying that she had given him 100 Baht two months ago, so why was he hanging around for so long.

There are folks make living begging all over the world. Can't understand the mentality. Down and out, I couldn't do it. let alone use it as a way to earn a 'living' but think he's earning, at 220 in 15 minutes say 800 an hour.. eight hours a day with weekends off, 120K a month?

But I don't get it. I've never seen a Thai give 100 Baht to a beggar Thai, and yet I saw two give that to him in 15 mins (the 20 Baht was from a Westerner).

Do they seem him as some superior class of beggar?
Do they gain amusement from handing him money?

The guy smiles at people like some sick pathetic puppy. It really is embarrassing to even see it.
